In an intimate runway show, Julianna Bass presented a fall collection inspired by Berlin’s artistry and angst. Drawing on the works of Peer Kriesel, most notably his illustrations based on human togetherness, she incorporated these bold and quirky prints on looks as varied as a bow blouse to a long-sleeve gown. While Bass played with vintage silhouettes, she tried to give them a modern twist with sheer illusion insets and necklines. Yet her attempt to modernize these vintage-inspired looks fell flat, as many of them read as thrift-store replicas.
