Zadig & Voltaire opted for a nightclub setting to show off the brand’s fall collection, the better to highlight its ongoing fascination with a kind of louche rock-‘n’-roll glamour. Guests stood sipping champagne in the darkened venue as models paraded by wearing zipped and studded miniskirts with snakeskin ankle boots.
There was a grungier vibe than usual to the contemporary line, perhaps reflecting the recent arrival of Paulo Melim Andersson, who now codesigns the women’s and accessories collections with Cecilia Bönström. Knits riddled with intentional holes were slung over satin slips, while a coat lined with flecked fur brought to mind a thrift-store treasure. The ubiquitous miniskirts looked uncomfortably short and tight, but their presence was balanced out by rocker-chic looks, including a pin-striped trouser suit dotted with tiny silver studs.
