Neil Barrett kept his fall women’s collection in sharp perspective, showing the tight lineup — tailored to the idea of Eighties punk musician Siouxsie Sioux today — in his Paris showroom. It was all black and white with Pop Art bursts of white stars embroidered on the back of a black leather biker jacket and woven onto a jacquard military cape.
Barrett focused on strong outwear, including a neat hybrid needle-punch parka and tailored overcoat with a zip-out hoodie, and sporty contemporary items that could easily be layered under it, such as stretch ottoman knits and bonded Neoprene sweatshirts. Combat boots with piercing hardware on the upper and heel gave the collection a gritty kick in the pants.
