Australian designer Kym Ellery decided to create a wardrobe for Expressionist painter Egon Schiele’s nudes for fall, printing out the paintings and sketching on clothes as her starting point. Volume was as important as ever to the lineup, with oversize coats, long bell sleeves and bell-bottomed pants playing a key role in tailored, weighty fabrics.
In this well-executed collection, the designer put more of a focus on texture, using a dusty pink brocade in an ample pod coat and flared pants, and heavy metallic fringe to cover the front of a strapless A-line dress.
