Tomas Maier consistently thinks about his clients in their everyday life and leisure, whether traveling or lounging at home on the weekends. For fall, he updated his signature relaxed elegance by honing in on contrasting materials and surfaces, playing up the collection’s textures in a muted palette.
Embroidered blouses poked out from boyish suiting — one version chicly done in black velvet, a play on an earlier style he did for his men’s line — while elongated cashmere and wool sweaters came layered over patterned silk skirts. He hit the mark with a series of sporty, striped “sweats” — what Maier refers to as travel uniforms — and reintroduced a utilitarian denim dress, updating it for the season with a metallic sheen.
For his men’s wear, Maier introduced rich materials, including lush shearlings and sleek leathers, into outerwear, all in the same elegant, casual vein.
