Like a beautiful photograph, Isa Arfen’s fall presentation was inspired and inspiring. London-based Serafina Sama, who is originally from Ravenna, Italy, spoke nostalgically about her teen years, growing up in the Nineties lusting over the pages of Italian Vogue, as well as her affinity for late-Seventies glamour. On set, these reflections merged seamlessly.
The Seventies were modernly interpreted via a maroon corduroy suit worn with a lacey green shirt and a bronze Lurex tunic shirt and matching midi. But it was in the sophistication of the evening looks that Sama excelled: A silver metallic fabric with subtle stripes was simply cut into a crewneck top and midi skirt; a green oversize plaid shirt was chicly paired with a black, mid-length tube skirt with sequined fringe detail at the hem (a dress version of the look was long-sleeved and off the shoulder); and a delicate pink satin slip dress featured a knotted bow on the high waist — perhaps her purest tribute to the Nineties.
