Working with the idea of a modern day Mina, Winona Ryder’s character from the 1992 version of “Bram Stoker’s Dracula,” Sylvie Millstein gorgeously translated the tension of fragility and strength into clothes that have a practical future in women’s wardrobes. Millstein’s daywear has been and continues to be strong, building a lean, languid silhouette out of ivory, wide-leg techno crepe pants, a fuzzy sweater and a softly spare, fog- gray, double-faced alpaca coat. This season, she put more of a focus on evening, making an elegant, modern proposition out of a spare, crimson bustier paired with a draped burgundy satin skirt and a draped white blouse featuring a long cutaway tail over classic tuxedo pants.
