Embarking on an expansion in the U.S., Les Copains should find plenty of takers for its long, showy-meets-cozy cardigans — in shaggy textures for day, sparkling and slipping off the shoulders for night. The knitwear stood out in Stefania Bandiera’s fall collection. She plied a dressy, borderline-fussy femininity, full of trapeze shapes and gussied-up with chandelier earrings and big rhinestones in a bid to match her runway venue: a gilded tapestry gallery at the 18th-century Palazzo Clerici.
The full or flared pants and snugly shaped tops had a whiff of the Seventies, which shows no sign of wearing out its welcome in the Italian fashion capital. These reflected that era’s glossy and chic side, with Bianca Jagger and Ursula Andress cited in the show notes. Not so the noisy psychedelic florals worn head to toe.
