Cozy and countrified by day, lustrous and leggy by night. Those were the twin stories of a grown-up and subdued Topshop Unique collection that was occasionally reminiscent of Nineties-era Prada.
Duffle coats with demonstrative fur cuffs, vaguely Sixties pinafores and Seventies pantsuits in blue corduroy and brown velvet mingled with thistle-print silk dresses and Aran sweaters with nifty snow-white cuffs.
The cocktail portion of the show was especially ho-hum, but it hinged on feathery bodices and sparkly thistle embroideries on black velvet. And it was certainly overshadowed by a celebrity section stacked with all kinds of Insta-girls, headlined by Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne.
