Rebecca Taylor always manages to be right on trend while keeping her sweet-girl-with-an-edge aesthetic. This collection, however, was unusually focused, built around just eight major pieces: two dress silhouettes, two skirt styles, two pants styles, a silk blouse and a jacket. These items were mixed and matched to show just how much bang for the buck they can provide. Not-too-sweet ruffles adorned many styles. Slouchy trousers and a tulip skirt were soft complements to another focus of the line — jackets with big shoulders. Cashmere sweaters, a trim jacket and a studded gray flannel coat each had the power look. Taylor may have played it safe this season because of current conditions, or she just may know what works for women.
