“After our presentation, we are heading over to our friend’s wedding,” Mark Badgley said during the intimate Badgley Mischka spring bridal show. The designer added that he and partner James Mischka have a lot of friends and family members getting married right now, so their tight lineup of eight dresses ended up as an ode to their loved ones who are brides.
The gowns — a few inspired by “The Great Gatsby” – had a glamorous, Old Hollywood flair. The duo worked with lace, tulle and organza, giving a light and airy hand to the collection. Key looks included an Art Deco-inspired beaded column dress and an intricate beaded cape-back gown with dramatic impact. And for the bride who wants something blue on her big day: the designers embellished the bodice of a strapless gown with moonstone opals.
