Regina King, Jurnee Smollett and more special guests brought Max Mara‘s designs to the red carpet of the Women in Film Honors 2025 in Los Angeles on Thursday night.
From structured denim suited looks to raspberry dresses, the red carpet was a complete Max Mara regiment. WWD breaks down those styles and more ahead.
Regina King
King, who received the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Television for the Netflix series adaptation of Judy Blume’s “Forever,” wore a double denim Max Mara suit from the Sportmax collection. The look featured a double-breasted blazer, crafted with non-stretch denim. The garment was designed with a loose fit, and included statement shoulders.
The blazer coordinated with Max Mara’s wide-cut trousers in soft denim fabric, featuring a low-rise waist and dropped crotch. The trousers included a belt wrapped around the hips, with knee tucks and vertical front darts to complete the design.

Maude Apatow
Apatow, who received the WIF Max Mara Face of the Future Award, opted for classic black-and-white colorblocking, wearing a semi-sheer white blouse with short sleeves and tiered ruffles. The look also included a sleek black skirt with a streamlined silhouette. Her black pumps complemented her attire. Apatow often collaborates with stylist Mimi Cuttrell.
Jurnee Smollett
Smollett embraced autumnal tones, wearing the raspberry Max Mara cady bustier dress. The maxidress was crafted with a draped bustier at the right shoulder and featured an asymmetric cutout neckline at the back.
Emma Mackey
Emma Mackey styled a structured look in a long-sleeve, pin-striped minidress. The look featured a high neckline with statement shoulders. At the hemline of the minidress, a belted element featured for a subtle statement piece. The colorways of Mackey’s dress were mostly muted, with contrasting faded pinstripes against a dark fabric base.
Felicity Jones
Jones broke up the string of Max Mara designs with a look by Thom Browne. Styled by Nicky Yates, the look featured a midi satin blue skirt with coordinated socks and calf suede low throat wingtip pumps. The two-time Oscar-nominated actress also wore a checked blazer, along with a white and gray checkered dress shirt and coordinated tie.
The WIF Honors 2025 celebrated trailblazing figures in the film industry for their contributions from the last year. Along with King and Apatow, award recipients included Tessa Thompson and the team behind “Hedda,” who won the Crystal Award for Advocacy in Film, and Jamie Lee Curtis, who received the Jane Fonda Humanitarian Award.
