Taylor Swift has had an eventful week, unveiling several looks while promoting the debut of her new album, “The Tortured Poets Department.” It just received the honor of being the first album in Spotify history to surpass 200 million streams in one day.
Leading the way is the first single “Fortnight,” a collaboration with Post Malone, which is currently sparking a viral TikTok challenge being led by none other than Swift herself. The “Fortnight” challenge is a trend where users share 14 clips of personal moments.
In a YouTube post on Friday, the singer gave viewers a look at her life, which included clips with her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs NFL star Travis Kelce. She also showed fans a short glimpse of her pickleball skills while wearing a pirouette skirt in lavender from Popflex with a white top and brown shades. The skirt has surged in search interest following the “Fortnight” challenge,” with the lavender color currently sold out. The brand is accepting limited pre-orders with plans for shipment in July. “This truly is our WILDEST DREAMS come true,” the brand said of the attention on Instagram.

Swift’s outfit was among several other casual looks in the videos. The artist was also seen on vacation wearing a floral Devi Plunge V Wire bra bikini top from Zimmerman, which she paired with a pair of striped boxer shorts from Venroy. She accessorized with a pair of black shades and her signature red matte lipstick. Swift also included a clip of her doing some arts and crafts work in a vintage Kansas University sweatshirt from Frankie collective, paying homage to her boyfriend. The shirt features different nods to Kansas City, including the archival Kansas University team logo and stamp.
Also included in the video were brief clips of Swift wearing a the Sansindo Navy Pink pyjama set from Desmond & Dempsey.
While the YouTube Short video showcased Swift wearing mostly casual looks, the pop star took the glamour up a notch with the teaser video for her newest single “Fortnight.” In it, the singer was spotted in a black ruffled floor-length skirt from Elena Velez, which she paired with a gothic-style black ruffled long sleeve top and lace gloves. Channeling the Victorian era, the teaser also showed Swift wearing a white frill shirt from Vivienne Westwood and the Candescence gown from Toni Maticevski, which she paired with a silver and gold diamond vintage brooch by Joseph Saidian & Sons. The looks were completed with bold dark eyeshadow and dark lipstick.
Since embarking on her “Eras Tour” last year, the singer has been a purveyor of fashion trends, working with the likes of Versace, Roberto Cavalli and other designers. Many of her fans have attended the “Eras” shows in punk and metallic looks similar to the ones worn by the singer during her set. This has also included fans wearing matte red lipstick and cutting their hair into bangs. In the months since, many of Swift’s looks have gone viral, including the one worn during the Neon Carnival.
“The Tortured Poets Department” is Swift’s eleventh studio album, and takes listeners on a journey through the five different stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression and acceptance.
