The 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday saw a number of stars embracing the sheer trend, which has been blazing its way through celebrity red carpets with no end in sight. From the event’s red carpet host Sasheer Zamata, who manned her post in a metallic sheer gown by Temperley London with a dazzling diamond tennis bracelet, to presenter Kerry Washington in a pearl-encrusted custom Giorgio Armani Prive sheer dress, less than opaque ensembles were all over.

Here, some of the sheer styles from the 2025 SAG Awards red carpet.

Michelle Yeoh

Michelle Yeoh was one in a coterie of names wearing Giorgio Armani Privé at the event. Yeoh’s look was an ethereal strapless dress featuring florals throughout. From the label’s spring 2025 couture collection, the dress is a swirl of grays, pinks and blues with a floor-dragging hem.

Kristen Bell

Host of the night, Kristen Bell was another Armani girl. Her look was a strapless corset dress featuring a tiered skirt. Styled by Nicole Chavez, the dress features rows of various designs, some tinged in green while others were made of black. The tiered skirt also featured sparkling embellishments.

Quinta Brunson

Quinta Brunson was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her show “Abbott Elementary.” The series creator turned up on the red carpet in a lace and knit floor-dragging Christian Dior resort 2025 dress. The entire bodice of the dress, including the shoulder straps, is made of lace. Lace also trimmed dress as the whole train. In addition, she wore Tiffany & Co. jewelry, including flower ear clips. Jessica Paster styled her.

Leighton Meester

Leighton Meester walked the red carpet with husband Adam Brody. For it, she wore a hand-knit Elie Saab spring 2025 dress. The green number featured some sections that were lined but other sections that showed her legs beneath the holes of the piece. Stylist Ilaria Urbinati also gave Meester Mikimoto jewelry, including a diamond earring and a pair of Santoni heels.

Adjoa Andoh

Adjoa Andoh chose an off-the-shoulder Stella McCartney dress. The voluminous look was made of a sheer mint-colored fabric featuring a white trim and a floral print. The look was ankle-length but included oversized sleeves and a train that dragged the ground. Andoh also carried a small black clutch and wore multiple rings. Her heels were strappy booties from Casadei. She was styled by Anna Hughes-Chamberlain.

The 2025 Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards, held on Sunday at the Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall in Los Angeles and hosted by Kristen Bell, honor the best performances in film and TV from 2024. “Shōgun” and “Wicked” lead the nominees with five nods each. Jane Fonda will receive the Life Achievement Award.
