Queen Latifah made a colorful style statement while attending Day Two of the 2023 U.S. Open on Tuesday in New York City.
To watch the match between Venus Williams and Greet Minnen, the award-winning rapper channeled the ‘90s with a pop of color, wearing the Akira Amelia cargo pocket maxiskirt and a Jimi Hendrix graphic T-shirt. Latifah coordinated her streetwear-inspired ensemble with a pair of gold hoop earrings and green SL72 trainers from the Adidas and Wales Bonner collaboration.
Latifah usually works with stylist Jason Rembert, whose clients include Golda Rosheuvel, Rosario Dawson and Larenz Tate. Her last glamorous look was seen at the amfAR Gala Cannes in May, when she dazzled in a strapless billowy Carolina Herrera gown with Chopard jewelry.

Latifah had another signature style moment while performing at LL Cool J’s Rock the Bells Festival in this month, where she shined in a sequin varsity jacket decorated with her initials and lace-up thigh-high boots. The festival, which commemorated the 50th anniversary of hip-hop, also included performances by Method Man, Rakim and Salt-N-Pepa.
Latifah is featured in the Netflix documentary “Ladies First: A Story of Women in Hip-Hop.” The docuseries was released Aug. 9 and tells the story of hip-hop from the famous female rapper’s perspective.
The 2023 U.S. Open is held in the Queens borough of New York City at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. This year’s tennis tournament will end on Sept. 10.
