Michelle Yeoh has been bob-ified.
At the “Wicked: For Good” premiere in Singapore on Thursday, the 63-year-old actress noticeably shed her long inky black ends for the bold new cut on the yellow brick carpet, where she posed alongside Ariana Grande, Cynthia Erivo, Jeff Goldblum and Jon M. Chu.
With her hair parted on the right side of her head and chopped in line with her chin, the actress, who plays Madame Morrible in the two-part film adaptation, smiled at the camera; her color a blend of blond and medium brown. In certain lights, she appeared to have gone full-blown Glinda, platinum highlights popping against the darker tones around them.

The coloring and cut was likely the work of Renato Campora, the celebrity stylist Yeoh’s collaborated with for previous premiere stops. However, she’s yet to credit him as the artist behind her blond bob. WWD has reached out for confirmation.
Up until now, Yeoh’s portfolio of premiere hairstyles hasn’t veered too far from her everyday aesthetic. From slicked ponytails to shoulder-length cuts, the looks have evoked Old Hollywood glamour, refined and feminine. That said, she has made the bold switch to blond before, touting the style in a recent sit-down where she recalled the moment she accepted the role of Madame Morrible.
In the film, Madame Morrible, the headmistress of Shiz University, keeps her stark white hair in an intricate updo, careful not to let too much of it down. Like Grande, Yeoh wore a collection of wigs by Samuel James, styled by lead hair and makeup artist Sarah Nuth.
The highly anticipated second installment of “Wicked” arrives in theaters on Nov. 21.
