At the Los Angeles premiere of HBO Max’s new series, “I Love LA,” on Tuesday night, Leighton Meester refreshed her hair with a style and hue that seemed to pay homage to Old Hollywood. The 39-year-old actress, who just made a cameo in the new season of Netflix’s “Nobody Wants This” alongside her husband Adam Brody, swapped her copper-toned coloring for muddy blond highlights and wide curls à la Marilyn Monroe.
The bright shade stood out next to the inky black coloring on the heads of “I Love LA” cast members Rachel Sennott, Josh Hutcherson, True Whitaker, Jordan Firstman and Odessa A’zion. On the fashion front, they were united; all six stars showed up in moody attire. Meester specifically opted for a black, low-cut, strapless gown with sequins throughout. Her bob cut complemented the neckline, with her blond tips just barely brushing her collarbone.

The cut and color was the work of celebrity hairstylist Clariss Anya Rubenstein, artist to Jennifer Garner and Alison Brie. Meester and Rubenstein have collaborated on her recent red carpet appearances, including the Los Angeles premiere of “Nobody Wants This” season two, where Meester was photographed with a dark slick-back.
While Sennott, Firstman, Whitaker, A’zion and Hutcherson make up the main cast of “I Love LA,” Meester will guest star in the premiere episode of the comedy series, set to release on Sunday. A satirical take on influencer culture in Los Angeles, the show, written by Sennott, will follow a group of recently reunited friends as they navigate the trials and tribulations of life as codependent adults. This is the latest project by Sennott following her 2023 film, “Bottoms,” starring Ayo Edebiri, Nicholas Galitzine and Kaia Gerber.
