MTV VMAs 2025 Red Carpet, Live Updates: See all the Celebrity Outfits

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards took place live at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, hosted by LL Cool J. This year’s show featured performances from Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Sabrina Carpenter, Doja Cat, Post Malone, Katseye and other artists, celebrating music’s biggest names and electrifying cultural moments worldwide. The show aired on CBS and MTV and streamed on Paramount+.

Ahead of the ceremony, the VMAs red carpet set the tone for an evening of music, fashion and culture, drawing some of the biggest names in entertainment to New York City. Carpenter wore a sheer red dress by Valentino, Doja Cat showed up in Balmain, Rosé wore Oscar de la Renta, Ariana Grande commanded attention in vintage Fendi and Tate McRae was looking ethereal in a Ludovic de Saint Sernin dress.

Beyond fashion, the red carpet served as a stage for artists to connect with audiences before the night’s major performances and award moments.

During the ceremony, Gaga dominated with four wins out of twelve nominations, including Artist of the Year, while Grande took home three awards, notably Video of the Year for “Brighter Days Ahead” and Best Pop, and Carpenter also earned three, including Best Album for “Short n’ Sweet” and the first-ever Best Pop Artist title. Additional honors went to Rosé and Bruno Mars for Song of the Year, Mariah Carey with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Ricky Martin as Latin Icon, and Busta Rhymes as the Rock the Bells Visionary.
