Kaia Gerber Favors Boho Glamour in Caped Valentino Minidress at The Hollywood Reporter Next Gen 2024 Dinner in Los Angeles

Kaia Gerber brought the boho trend to The Hollywood Reporter and Instagram’s Next Gen 2024 dinner on Wednesday in Los Angeles. Gerber, known for her roles in “Bottoms” and “Saturday Night,” is featured in the annual issue, which honors up and coming talent in Hollywood.

The daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford selected a look from Valentino’s resort 2025 collection, creative director Alessandro Michele’s first for the label. Gerber modeled a caped gold minidress featuring detailed embroidery, including floral sequin motifs and pearlescent beaded trim. She added on a pair of ivory knee-high socks and pink heels with bow appliqués.

Gerber wore her brunette tresses in waves, while her makeup consisted of brown eyeshadow, winged eyeliner and a mauve lip.

Michele, who departed Gucci in 2022, was announced as the house’s new creative director in March. Michele succeeds Valentino’s longtime creative director, Pierpaolo Piccioli, whose exit was revealed days prior to Michele’s appointment.

Michele surprised the fashion world with his first collection for Valentino, revealed in June. The resort 2025 line comprises 171 looks that span womenswear and menswear.

The designer delved into Valentino’s archives for inspiration, nodding to multiple decades from the 1950s to the 1980s.

“I love objects, I have an intimate relationship with material things, it’s almost like a religious meeting and I feel a great privilege to be able to touch [Garavani’s] designs, as if they were a relic part of his life,” Michele told WWD. “The rugs, the Chinese vases, the beautiful things he surrounded himself with conditioned his designs. He amplified beauty. I share the same kind of relationship with fashion as a great vehicle for freedom.”

Bohemian fashion has made a comeback this year, with Chloé’s fall 2024 fashion show credited with reigniting the trend. Stars such as Zendaya, Daisy Edgar-Jones and Sienna Miller have embraced boho chic styles on the red carpet, including at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
