Elle Fanning made a dramatic entrance at the closing ceremony of the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on Saturday.
The actress wore a flowing Gucci gown from the Italian label’s 2025 cruise line, which debuted earlier this month in London. Fanning’s floral frock featured pleated chiffon fabric, a plunging neckline and a backless silhouette.
The “Maleficent” star added on Cartier jewels, including a diamond-encrusted timepiece and earrings, completing her look with Amina Muaddi heels.
Fanning was styled by Samantha McMillen, whose other A-list clients include Brie Larson and Chris Hemsworth.

At this year’s festival, Fanning served as a juror for the L’Oréal Paris Lights on Women’s Worth prize.
“I am honored to preside as juror of the Lights on Women’s Worth Award and to play part in continuing this important initiative,” Fanning said in a statement.
Fanning took over the role from Kate Winslet, who has served as sole juror since the inception of the award in 2021.
“Such platforms are essential in supporting emerging female talent, giving them the opportunity to showcase their unique skills and work and empowering them to become the artist they want to be. The extraordinary talents of last year’s finalists were truly breathtaking; I can’t wait to watch the films.”
The Lights on Women’s Worth award was created to honor a promising female director from the two short film categories across the Official Selection.
The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival occured from May 14 to 25. “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig served as the jury president for this year’s festival, held in the South of France. Several high-profile premieres, including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” and “Furiosa” starring Anya Taylor-Joy, took place, while Meryl Streep received an honorary Palme d’Or.
