Cate Blanchett made a dazzling entrance at the premiere of “Rumours” on Saturday at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival.
The actress walked the red carpet in a custom sequined gold gown by Louis Vuitton, which featured a floor-length train. Blanchett accessorized with sculptural diamond earrings and satin pumps, also by the French label.
The “Borderlands” star wore her blond tresses in an updo, while her makeup consisted of mauve blush and a matching lip.

On Sunday, Blanchett changed into another gold look, sporting a sequined Louis Vuitton top with skinny leather trousers. The actress added on patent pumps and a pair of wayfarer shades, completing her ensemble with gold stud earrings.
Stylist Elizabeth Stewart, whose other clients include Amanda Seyfried and Rebel Wilson, dressed Blanchett for both occasions.
“Rumours,” a dark comedy directed by Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson and Galen Johnson, costars Alicia Vikander. The film follows G7 leaders who get lost in the woods during a summit.
The 77th annual Cannes Film Festival occurs from May 14 to May 25. “Barbie” director Greta Gerwig serves as the jury president for this year’s festival, held in the South of France. Several high-profile premieres, including Francis Ford Coppola’s “Megalopolis” and “Furiosa” starring Anya Taylor-Joy, are expected to take place, while Meryl Streep will receive an honorary Palme D’Or.
