Cloud lips and ’90s minimalism came together on the faces of the A-list at the 98th annual Academy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night, with Ariana Greenblatt and “KPop Demon Hunters” voice Audrey Nuna leading the charge on the carpet ahead of the ceremony.
Ejae, who’s also one of the star voices in “Kpop Demon Hunters,” debuted Charlotte Tilbury’s new Pillow Talk Blush Balm Lip Tint, as did Kate Hudson and Demi Moore.
At the same time, Old Hollywood-inspired red lips dominated alongside ethereal eyes, seen on best actress nominees Rose Byrne and Jessie Buckley and “One Battle After Another” star Chase Infiniti, respectively.

Here, the best makeup looks at the 98th annual Academy Awards.
Ejae
Nominated for best music (original song) for “Golden” in “KPop Demon Hunters,” Ejae brought K-beauty glass skin to the highly anticipated awards show. The glow was achieved by facialist Lord Gavin McLeod-Valentine, who sculpted her face with The Method by Augustinus Bader, and makeup artist Kevin Cheah, who used an arsenal of Charlotte Tilbury products.
Kate Hudson
Teaming with makeup artist Tonya Brewer, Hudson donned a full face of Charlotte Tilbury products, including Hollywood Flawless Filter, the recently reformulated Magic Cream and the new Pillow Talk lip tints. Her complexion was equally as luminous as the stones on her gown. Her lips boasted the same light rose hue that dressed her cheeks, while her eyes were embellished with bronze hues.
Demi Moore
Dressed in a feathered custom Gucci gown, Demi Moore opted for a toned-down makeup aesthetic, featuring coral blush and faded lips by Charlotte Tilbury’s new Pillow Talk Blush Balm Lip Tint. Her eyes, however, were as dark as her gown, boasting a pool of brown and charcoal shadow. The look may have been imagined by artist Raoul Alejandre, who crafted her aesthetic for the Actor Awards at the beginning of March. WWD has reached out for confirmation.
Jessie Buckley
Jessie Buckley embellished the red hues in her satin Chanel gown with a vibrant lip on the carpet. The statement-making hue paired with the peach-toned blush spread across her cheeks and nose. The “Hamnet” star worked with makeup artist Nina Park to construct her aesthetic. Park used products by Chanel.
Teyana Taylor
Teyana Taylor arrived at the 98th ceremony dripping in Chanel, too, from her face to her feet. The “One Battle After Another” actress, who received her first nomination for best actress in a supporting role, added an avant-garde twist to her aesthetic with double-lined, cat-eye eyeliner in her inner corners. Her lips were embellished with a brown pencil and filled with a clear gloss.
Emma Stone
Louis Vuitton ambassador Emma Stone continued her cloud lip streak on Sunday night, with a rose-taupe hue. The matte shade was LV Rouge lipstick in shade Passport to Paris. For eyes, she used the LV Ombres Eyeshadow palette in Beige Memento.
Chase Infiniti
Working with makeup artist Amber Dreadon, Chase Infiniti subtly matched her ethereal glam to her lavender Louis Vuitton gown. The “One Battle After Another” actress’ bone structure was accentuated with the NuFace Trinity+ tool and Summer Fridays. Meanwhile, a bronze-toned blush embellished her cheeks, and a brown-taupe gloss coated her lips.
Rose Byrne
Rose Byrne was the epitome of Old Hollywood beauty, donning a smoky charcoal shadow and black eyeliner across her lids, wispy lashes and red lipstick. The pop of color on her lips was accentuated against her black Dior gown, styled by Kate Young.
Ariana Greenblatt
With the help of makeup artist Jennifer Tioseco, Ariana Greenblatt lightened her look to fit her new ginger-hued hair on the carpet. Her lips, cushion-y and matte, mimicked the faint rose blush on her cheeks, while her eyes were embellished with a soft bronze shade in her crease.
Audrey Nuna
Audrey Nuna went with naked eyes and glass skin on the carpet before the ceremony. As one of the main voices in “Kpop Demon Hunters,” it’s likely her face was prepped using a range of products from K-beauty brand Anua, which announced its global partnership with the Netflix film in February.
