Solid Homme is launching in the U.S. market.
Starting today, the South Korean men’s wear brand will be sold exclusively in the U.S. on Mr Porter and made available to globally — the retailer ships to over 170 countries.
According to Sam Lobban, buying manager at Mr Porter, Solid Homme fills a space in the market that not many brands occupy.
“We were looking for a contemporary collection that bridged the market with designer and contemporary and there’s not a lot of that,” said Lobban, who added that the brand’s aesthetic sits between Acne and Neil Barrett.
The fall collection, which is priced from $200 to $1,185, was inspired by Matisse, and Mr Porter will carry 21 pieces from the line. The offering consists of footwear, accessories and apparel. Key items include wool overcoats, intarsia sweaters and wool joggers.
Woo Youngmi founded Solid Homme in 1988. For the past few seasons Mr Porter has sold Wooyoungmi, the designer’s more niche, luxury men’s line.
