LONDON — The British men’s wear label Thom Sweeney will land at Bergdorf Goodman in August in an exclusive for the store.
The retailer will house a selection of tailored clothing, separates and outerwear from the fall collection. The price range is from $230 for a merino sleeveless vest to $3,290 for a navy cashmere overcoat.
A gray flannel, glen plaid, three-piece suit created by Thom Whiddett and Luke Sweeney, the young bespoke tailors behind the label, will be exclusive to the retailer.
“We’re optimistic for the American market. Despite the tough times for some luxury brands, we feel there’s a good opportunity for a smaller specialist company such as ourselves to do well,” Sweeney told WWD.
“We’ve been working in New York with trunk shows, building up a steady loyal client base, and we felt the time was right to offer a permanent setup, showcasing our ready-to-wear within a top department store such as Bergdorf Goodman. We plan to follow up in the future with our own store to complement this,” added Whiddett.

Bergdorf Goodman men’s fashion director Bruce Pask said he’s been a fan of the brand since he stepped into its Mayfair shop a few years ago. “Though grounded in great English tailoring history and tradition, the cut and softer construction of their suits and sport coats give them a modernity, sleek freshness that feels utterly new,” he said.
Launched in 2007, the duo began as Savile Row apprentices and are known for their soft textures and cuts.
