Sciessent has struck a partnership with Swedish apparel and footwear company Haglöfs to supply its Lava odor-adsorbing technology for use in selected pieces of Haglöfs apparel range.
Lava, which is nontoxic and Bluesign-approved, traps the odor molecules produced by naturally occurring bacteria in skin to create apparel that smells fresher, longer and requires less laundering.
Paul Ford, chief executive officer of Sciessent, based in Wakefield, Mass., said Haglöfs shares its commitment to environmental responsibility.
“Like all Sciessent products, our Lava technology product meets stringent environmental standards and we feel Haglöfs is a perfect partner to help us further our mission,” Ford said.
By dramatically reducing odor, Lava helps eliminate the need to wash apparel more frequently, saving water and allowing wearers to use less laundry detergent.
