Nike‘s 30th anniversary celebrations for the Air Max 95 are continuing to pour out new sneakers, as a super collaboration has been revealed coming out of South Korea.
The Worksout x Nike Air Max 95 is slated to release in May with only 3,000 pairs made available to the public. A pared down olive green upper gets rid of the Air Max 95’s signature wavy striping and instead sees a couple of wavy lines surround a large Swoosh with a net interior. The transformation continues with a new cord lacing system, and Workout’s name takes over the ovular tongue branding. “Become indispensable” is printed in Korean Hangul on the insole, and the heel takes on a mud-like texture to reinforce the sneaker’s rugged look along with a black sole unit.
Worksout, an influential Korean boutique, has five cofounders who met in 1999. Their high school uniforms inform the Air Max 95, and prior to founding their boutique they operated the webstore Southfoot. The insole phrase comes from the cofounders’ guest vice principal at Seoul High School.
