Through intricately detailed and designer-inspired spins on its classic skate shoes, Vans has reentered the hype sneaker conversation and the VF Corporation owned-and-operated label is making the most of its moment in the spotlight with even more on-trend styles set to be released Thursday.
A new Pearlized Pack of Vans sneakers sees the skate brand’s Premium Classic Slip-On and Premium Old Skool 36 sneakers adopt a grungy, punk-leaning look with studded rivets, pearl embellishments and pre-distressed weathered rubber midsoles. It’s not a wholly new concept for Vans — the brand’s wildly popular Satoshi Nakamoto collaborations feature even more complex pearl applications — but it’s clearly one that’s working for the moment, as nearly every iteration released thus far has been met with enthusiasm and quick sell-throughs.
The latest Pearlized Pack group includes two colorways of the Premium Old Skool 36 in Black/Navy Blue and Vintage Cocoa Brown. Both pairs feature matching pearl placements, with the gems appearing on the toe box, tongue, heel and across the signature Vans Sidestripe on both the lateral and medial sections. Each color also features a pre-scuffed midsole for a worn-in look.

The pack also includes three styles of the Premium Classic Slip-On, which comes in Blackout, Camo Black and Indigo Blue. Like the Old Skool 36, each Classic Slip-On dons matching pearl placements with a hit across the heel and a pearlized design which covers the entire front upper.
Aside from its various pearl-accented releases, Vans has also found success with recent styles which reference designer handbags. The brand’s Chanel-inspired Old Skool “Souvenir” sneaker from August kicked off much of this momentum, and the label has since followed up with restocks, new colors and another designer-informed “Charms” pack.
The Vans Pearlized Pack’s Premium Old Skool 36 is priced at $130, while the Premium Classic Slip-On retails for $110. Each pair in the collection is set for a Thursday release from vans.com and select Vans retailers, but don’t be surprised if they sell out quickly.
