Pharrell and Adidas appear to have landed a hit with the Jellyfish, an ultra-chunky new model based on the Adistar Cushion 3 running shoe from 2005. It flew in its debut orange colorway and is even reaching more than $1,000 on the resale market.
The Pharrell x Adidas Jellyfish “Green” looks to be the heavily textured model’s second iteration. Official images for the sneaker have surfaced with similar colorblocking to the launch edition. The primary color takes the same spot as orange did before, while the rest of the upper and sole unit opt for a mix of white, gray and black, without the olive green used previously.
As the latest original model from Pharrell‘s long-running partnership with Adidas, the Jellyfish had been eagerly anticipated for much of the year after first popping up in Paris Fashion Week in January. A much thicker sole has been added to the 2000s runner, and the upper maintains the lines of its source material but articulates them in more dramatic fashion through protruding TPU paneling. In addition to the orange and green variants, the Jellyfish has also been spotted with comparable colorblocking in both blue and black and white, as well as a distinct triple-black treatment.

Many have compared the silhouette to the once-fashionable Balenciaga Triple-S, another behemoth of a sneaker. And while it’s by no means cheap at $300, Pharrell’s turn at a beefy model does still come at a significantly lower price point.
The Pharrell x Adidas Jellyfish “Green” will release October 11, likely through Pharrell’s website and select third-party retailers. Pricing will stay the same at $300.
