Does Nike have the next viral hit sneaker loafer hybrid on its hands?
It might be too early to say for certain, but the brand’s new Air Max Phenomena model already has people buzzing ahead of a confirmed release date and now, a second style has joined the line up.
After surfacing Tuesday in a Black/Metallic Silver look, official e-commerce product images of the Nike Air Max Phenomena SWDC sneaker loafer have now appeared in a Pearl Pink/Black/Cool Gray colorway. The pair’s color description is a bit misleading; it features a soft Pearl Pink leather upper with black and Cool Gray accents, but the key features on this style are its metallic purple mudguard and purple Air units. The glossy overlay gives the shoe an entirely new look and offers a further glimpse at what Nike may have in store for the soon-to-debut model.

The Nike Air Max Phenomena SWDC was designed in collaboration with the Serena Williams Design Crew, a rotating collective of designers who work with the tennis legend and Nike to create yearly collections. Inspiration for this year’s SWDC releases has included the city of Miami, which is referenced on the Air Max Phenomena through “305” call-outs on the heel pull tab and insole. The new Air Max Phenomena shoe builds off of the recently reissued Air Sunder Max (aka Air Max SNDR) model.
Sneaker loafers have been an inescapable trend since early 2024, when New Balance and designer Charlotte Lee revamped the brand’s 1906 sneaker as a “snoafer” hybrid. The shoe caught on immediately with consumers seeking a balance between formal and sporty, and other brands took notice. Some, like Hoka, introduced new models with the hybrid look, while others such as Converse and Mizuno resurfaced into pre-existing designs.
And the mash-ups keep coming. A half-loafer, half-mule Air Jordan spin on the trend emerged in early June and now, Nike, Inc.’s own Sportswear division is getting in on the action with some help from the SWDC.
A release date for the Nike Air Max Phenomena SWDC has not been confirmed, but the sneaker loafer is set to be released this year at a retail price of $155. The style code for this Pearl Pink colorway is HJ4400-601. A detailed look at the upcoming pair appears below.
