Now that Nike, Inc. has reissued many of the fan-favorite original colorways of the remastered Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble, it appears that the brand’s sportswear division will enter its experimental era with a new spin on the model that alters many of its signature features.
The upcoming Nike Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble “211” removes the model’s synthetic suede, human anatomy-inspired striping from the upper, replacing it with a perforated textile which has reflective dots peeking through. The bottommost stripe takes on a rough weathered appearance, and this textured finish is also applied to the midsole.
Elsewhere, the Air Max 95’s heel mini Swoosh logo is moved to the toe, while “211” branding replaces the typical “Air” text found on the insole and heel. The shoe’s spine-inspired outsole shank features what appears to be a map graphic, which could hint at the backstory behind this particular style.
