Nike‘s latest innovation in Air Max came last month via point-loaded Air units that make contact with the ground only when necessary. The Air Liquid Max got its debut release for Air Max Day and was quickly followed by a collaboration with Fragment, and the sold-out sneaker will now return soon with a stealthy look.
The Nike Air Liquid Max “Triple Black” is slated to release at the end of April. As its name suggests, the sneaker is fully blacked out, including its upper, futuristic sole unit and all of its external branding. A similar treatment was used for Fragment’s take on the sneaker, making this a potential opportunity to get a nearly identical look without navigating the same level of hype.
Nike engineered the globular Air units to be flexible and low to the ground. The ample negative space created by the shape also allows for a reduction in materials used, bringing points in sustainability. Additional tech comes via the mesh upper, which features three layers of printing to boost support and create a deeper texture than may initially meet the eye.
