It turns out Nike’s recently surfaced cow print Air Force 1 in black-and-white isn’t the only version of the sneaker that the brand has readied for a springtime launch.
The timeless Air Force 1 silhouette is also being given a Field Brown/Gum Medium Brown/Sail colorway to complement the black-based look. The pair retains the same overall build of the black version but shifts the colors for a lighter overall look.
It starts with a tumbled leather base in white, a smooth leather Swoosh and heel tab with the key element being its spotted cow-patterned pony hair in brown and white. Adding another layer to the look is a gum rubber outsole, a detail that has historically been a favorite of sneaker fans.

These upcoming cow-print looks come on the heels of a leopard print Air Force 1 Low from last summer. However, Nike’s legacy with animal prints stretches back even further, and there’s an argument to be made that the Beaverton, Ore.-based company was one of the first to popularize the theme on athletic footwear. One of the most well-known examples is 2006’s “Animal Pack” designed with Japanese retailer Atmos. And in 1987, Nike issued the Air Python and Air Safari, two of the earliest sneakers to feature animal motifs.
While the animal-print trend may have cooled off a bit since Wales Bonner’s Adidas Samba collaborations, time has proven that it’s the sort of look that has lasting appeal and will regularly cycle in and out of style.
This Nike Air Force 1 Low Cow Print in Field Brown is set to be released exclusively in women’s sizing this summer for a retail price of $135. The sneaker’s style code is IO0442-200 and it’s expected to be available from nike.com and select Nike Sportswear retailers.
