After an early arrival at overseas retailers in February, New Balance’s brand new Abzorb 2010 sneaker has been officially unveiled and its global launch is just weeks away.
The New Balance Abzorb 2010 is a new silhouette from the Boston-based footwear brand’s lifestyle category. Familiar looking yet wholly new, the Abzorb 2010 is described by New Balance as a sneaker designed with wearability in mind. Inspired by the brand’s early 2000s running shoes, the Abzorb 2010 features an upper reminiscent of what one might find on the 990 series.

There’s a diamond-patterned mesh, suede and synthetic overlays and plenty of reflective silver accents. But the standout features of the Abzorb 2010 is, as its name suggests, its Abzorb-cushioned midsole. It features an exaggerated design with large, visible Abzorb segments that’s intended to be the standout detail of the new model.

In addition to the debut “Dockside/Indigo” look featured here, two collaborative colorways from Kith on the New Balance Abzorb 2010 have been teased in the streetwear brand’s lookbooks. The two Kith x New Balance Abzorb 2010 sneakers feature a color palette that’s considerably more vibrant than what’s often found on the Ronnie Fieg-led label’s footwear.
The Abzorb 2010 isn’t the only soon-to-be-released New Balance model that has people buzzing. The brand’s upcoming 2000 Abzorb sneaker is also set for a large-scale rollout, one that’s expected to begin soon.
Along with the reveal of the Abzorb 2010, New Balance announced a blockbuster collaboration with Miu Miu featuring tennis star Coco Gauff’s signature sneaker.
The New Balance Abzorb 2010 will be released May 7 from newbalance.com and select retailer worldwide. Retail pricing is set at $160.
