Kith Is Going to Help New Balance Introduce Its New Thin-Soled Sneaker

The Kith x New Balance 204L has leaked ahead of the model's debut.

Just over a week ago, a new New Balance sneaker leaked that immediately drew comparison’s to the brand’s thin-soled Miu Miu collaborations. And as the wait for the retro-tinged style continues, a Kith collaboration on the trend-driven model has now leaked.

The Kith x New Balance 204L does away with the minimalism of the model’s previous leak and features color-blocking more in line with the brand’s slate of retro runners than its Miu Miu collaborations. Forrest and mint green define much of the upper in suede and leather, while the rest of is components are rendered in grey. Kith branding can be seen on the heel counter and insole in the one image leaked by the Instagram user @cozxyz, and an off-white and black midsole and outsole combo makes it look less svelte than before.

Little is known about the 204L beyond what can be seen in early images, but it’s clear that New Balance is seeking to blend its aughts running aesthetic with the demand for lower profile silhouettes. In less than a week, New Balance will also introduce the 2010, an aughts-inspired silhouette that feels familiar but is actually a completely new model.
