The Grateful Dead first linked with Nike in 2020 for a celebrated trio of fuzzy SB Dunk Lows with lightning bolt Swoosh, and five years later the band is back for more through a three-way partnership with the Oregon Ducks.
The Grateful Dead x Oregon Ducks x Nike Air Max 90 opts for a different incorporation of Deadhead aesthetics. Most of the canvas and mesh upper is rendered in white, but the mudguard stands out through an abundance of colors in tie-dye. This colorful detail is replicated on the stitching throughout, and the TPU eyelet panels are rendered in yellow and seafoam green.
Making its return is the lightning bolt Swoosh, which employs the same two colors, and yellow forms the pattern surrounding the heel Air Max unit. A rubber keychain has Oregon’s mascot standing in for the marching bears in a rainbow of hues.
