Simone Rocha brought her sense of sartorial whimsy to the Franca Fund Gala in Doha, Qatar on Sunday with (faux) furry footwear of her own design.
The Irish designer showcased the Faux Fur Grip Mule Heel from her brand, an unusual style with dramatic faux fur covering the upper in brown tones. Because of the material they’re crafted with, each piece is unique. The shoes have some ballerina-like features as well, including a buckled strap across the foot, and a dainty bow at the vamp. The silhouette also features a round toe and a flared kitten heel measuring 6 cm. A grip sole contributes a practical element to the set, which retails for $835. Rocha’s unconventional footwear accompanied a black wrapped cape-like garment with a slightly bubbled silhouette.
Simone Rocha’s distinctive footwear creations have been embraced by several celebrities. Alexander Skarsgård, for example, wore fall 2025 Multi Buckle Brogues on the cover of UK Esquire; and Michelle Yeoh wore Crocs x Simone Rocha Siren clogs to the premiere of “Ne Zha II” in August. The label is well known for its collaborative collections made with Crocs; a spring 2026 collection between the clog brand and luxury brand, featuring the Ballerina Platform and more silhouettes, dropped in October. It marked the fourth installment in their collaborative relationship, which dates back to 2023.
