Saoirse Ronan’s Lace Gown and Minimalist Flat Sandals Command Attention at Louis Vuitton Cruise 2026 Show

At a photocall dominated by sculptural accessories and heavy footwear, Ronan’s low-profile sandals signaled a quieter approach to Cruise dressing.

Saoirse Ronan grounded a lingerie-inspired gown with flat sandals at the Louis Vuitton Cruise 2026 photocall on Thursday in Avignon, France, opting for minimal footwear over height or structure.

The actor arrived at the brand’s 2026 Cruise Show in a black floor-length dress trimmed with lace along the neckline and side seams. Sheer paneling and soft pleats revealed tonal lace beneath, extending down the legs and pooling at the hem.

Rather than platform heels or boots — both common in recent Louis Vuitton styling — the Louis Vuitton house ambassador opted for black flat sandals with a minimalist T-strap construction. The glossy leather design featured a central strap running from toe to ankle, fastened at the sides with a buckle. A gold Louis Vuitton emblem was affixed at the center of the T-bar, positioned just above the toes.

The sandals revealed the full lace detailing at the bottom of Ronan’s gown, which extended past the ankle and draped over the foot. The look maintained a consistent palette of dark, neutral tones without additional visible accessories beyond a gold ring.

“Theater is wonderful, but there is a bit of you that’s like, ‘Gosh, this is hard,’” Ronan told WWD at the event, shrugging a leather bomber jacket over her lingerie-style gown. “My husband [Jack Lowden] is on stage right now and I think he’s more born to be on stage than I am.” Still, she added, “I like when theater and fashion come together.”

Ronan has quite the history with Louis Vuitton. In January 2024, she was tapped as the latest house ambassador for the brand. “I have admired Saoirse’s career for many years now; I find her totally captivating in the roles she plays,” Ghesquière shared at the time. “What’s more, behind her talent lies such a charming and bright person.”

The actress also stared in the brand’s spring campaign alongside Blackpink’s Lisa in January, showing off the season’s silhouettes in images inspired by the work of French contemporary artist Laurent Grasso.
