Queen Rania Embraces the Unspoken Black Dress Code With Prada Sandals Ahead of Jeff Bezos’ and Lauren Sánchez’s Wedding in Venice

Other stars also arrived in all-black ensembles and footwear.

Queen Rania of Jordan arrived in Venice on Thursday, joining the growing list of high-profile guests gathering ahead of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez’s wedding weekend. The royal stuck to the unofficial dress code for arrivals — head-to-toe monochrome, preferably in dark colors or black, pairing structured separates with Prada’s quilted platform sandals.

Celebrities in superyachts sail into Venice this week for the three-day wedding party of Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez, despite irate locals who say the UNESCO city is no billionaire's playground. The tech magnate and journalist have reportedly invited about 200 guests to their multi-million dollar nuptials in the Italian city, which are expected to kick off on June 26 and end Saturday with a ceremony at a secret location. The sandals, made from soft nappa leather, featured Prada’s signature triangle motif rendered in padded patchwork. A leather-covered buckle secured the upper, while a chunky 65mm heel and 25mm platform provided height and stability — a practical move for navigating the city’s notoriously uneven docks and cobbled streets.

Rania styled the sandals with loose, buckled trousers and a slouchy black knit top. A black leather bucket tote with gold hardware and oversize black sunglasses rounded out the look.

Her look aligned with an emerging trend among early arrivals: a commitment to monochrome. Kris Jenner stepped off a boat the same day wearing a full-length black gown with sheer sleeves and stiletto sandals. Tom Brady arrived earlier in the day in a slate gray tracksuit from NoBull, paired with Travis Scott’s Jordan Jumpman Jack TR sneakers in Bright Cactus.

Where Jenner leaned into screen-siren glamour and Brady prioritized self-promotion and the comfort of athleisure, Rania landed on minimalism with a designer edge. The quilted Prada platforms provided a subtle contrast to the otherwise utilitarian look, striking a balance between polish and practicality.

The appearance tracks with Rania’s broader approach to public style, which often favors sharp tailoring and statement accessories without excess. In Venice, the choice also made logistical sense. The platforms offered stability on the city’s uneven docks while signaling brand fluency among a guest list heavy on fashion and tech elites.

Bezos and Sánchez are expected to host their multiday wedding celebration at a private estate in Venice’s Arsenale district. Despite protests from locals over the city’s swelling luxury presence, guests continue to arrive, many already adopting a visual theme of head-to-toe black.
