Naomi Watts posed alongside her son Sasha in strappy sandals from Prada on the red carpet of the 2025 Critics Choice Awards on Friday night in Santa Monica, Calif.
Strappy sandals have been an on-going trend for celebrities this year, specifically with designer brands such as Louboutin and Jimmy Choo, although many other brands such as Chanel and Stuart Weitzman carry strappy sandals as a part of their footwear lineup, offering the style in many different iterations.

Crafted with patent leather material, the actress wore a pair of the Prada Satin Black Sandals, which were characterized by a black strappy design that included slim straps on the upper region and a strap that wrapped around the ankle for security. The silhouette was completed by a sharp, thin heel measuring between 3-to-4 inches in height, and matched her black dress, which featured a cutout design on each side.
The Critics Choice Awards are an annual event presented by the American-Canadian Critics Choice Association to honor the finest in cinematic achievement. The Critics Choice Awards celebrates projects across film and television, and this year projects like “Conclave,” “Wicked” and “Dune: Part Two” lead the film nominations while “Shogun” leads the television nominations. Presenters will include Aldis Hodge, Kate Hudson, Kathryn Hahn, Lupita Nyong’o and Sarah Michelle Gellar among others and this year’s attendees include Zoe Saldaña, Sarah Michelle Gellar and more.
The 30th annual Critics Choice Awards were originally scheduled to take place Jan. 12, but was postponed after the L.A. wildfires hit the towns of Pacific Palisades and Altadena. While E!‘s traditional red carpet pre-show was canceled, the stars still walked down the carpet in their best outfits and footwear. Chelsea Handler is hosting the ceremony, which is taking place on Feb. 7 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California. The ceremony will be broadcast live on E! starting at 7 p.m. ET, and will be available to stream on Peacock on Saturday.
