Meryl Streep brought the “Devil Wears Prada 2” press tour firmly into Miranda Priestly territory on Monday, kicking off the highly anticipated sequel’s global promotion run at Casa Azul in Mexico City in a monochrome red look punctuated with glossy Aldo slingbacks.
Streep wore the brand’s Amilie Slingback High Heel in Medium Red. The synthetic patent slingback, which retails for $110, featured a long, pointed toe, a high-cut outer side and a more open inner side that gave the silhouette a d’orsay-like shape through the arch. A narrow strap wrapped the back of the heel, while a slim stiletto and steep pitch kept the profile sharp.

She paired the glossy slingbacks with a bright red Dolce & Gabbana suit, pushing the look even further into Miranda Priestly territory. Her blazer featured strong shoulders, peaked lapels, flap pockets and a one-button closure for a hard, controlled line. Underneath, Streep wore a matching pussy-bow blouse in a slightly glossier fabric, with the tie left loose at the neck. The wide-leg trousers skimmed low enough to leave only a partial view of the shoes until Streep took her seat beside Hathaway — who wore Schiaparelli Patent Keyhole Pumps for the occasion — when more of the d’orsay-like side cut came into view.
Large gold hoop earrings, oversized cat-eye sunglasses in a deep burgundy tone and a small cluster of multicolored brooches pinned high on the left side of her jacket completed the look.
The shoe choice also fit the sequel’s growing red heel thread. Last August, Streep filmed in crimson peep-toe platforms on the New York set, and the first teaser later put Miranda Priestly in red Valentino Rockstud stilettos. Monday’s Aldo pair pushed that same color story in a cleaner direction. The Mexico City stop also marked the true start of the film’s promotional run, with Streep and Hathaway appearing together first at Casa Azul before changing for the evening premiere.
That made the look useful on two levels. For the film, it kept building a clear visual throughline around Miranda and red heels. For Aldo, it placed a mass-market patent slingback inside one of 2026’s most closely watched fashion movie rollouts — which has plenty of brand collaborations.
