Martha Stewart Trades Her Wedges for Manolo Blahnik Sandals for the NYPL’s 2025 Library Lions Gala

She wore a slingback style.

Martha Stewart has been fairly consistent with her footwear style as of late. The TV personality has stayed loyal to wedge sandals, comfortable boots and peep-toe sandals. But she went for a bit more glamour for the 2025 Library Lions gala at the New York Public Library on Monday, in gold Manolo Blahnik sandals with a low heel.

Stewart was spotted on the front steps of the NYPL, sporting her go-to brown, sequined overcoat with a plaid lining. Once inside, the business mogul wore an ankle-length, long-sleeve dress in a chocolate brown, which she adorned with a chunky gold pearl necklace to pair perfectly with her shoe choice.

Striking the right balance between comfort and chic, Stewart went for the Manolo Blahnik Patopia sandals. The shoes are made from a high shine, rich gold napa leather and follow a slingback design. The open-toe heels feature a broad front strap across the upper, securing the foot in place, while sitting on top of a low block heel measuring about 30mm, which is slightly over an inch in height.

The sandals feature a round, almond toe that allows the foot to breathe, as opposed to a pinched pointed toe design. The sleek style retails for $835 and is currently available on the Manolo Blahnik website. The luxury footwear designer also offers the style in a black suede version.

Stewart modeled a couple of current trends in the footwear space by choosing the Patopia sandals for the event. Bright metallic heels in gold and silver have been popular this year, while the slingback silhouette has been a go-to for celebrities on the red carpet and the style had quite a moment on the runway during spring 2026 fashion week, which indicates slingbacks will continue to be on trend well into next year.
