Julianne Hough had a daring footwear moment on Monday. During a visit to “Good Morning America,” the actress and choreographer wore a pair of The Linden sandals from Khaite, which were initially recalled in 2023 due to a fall hazard.
The Linden sandals, along with two other styles from Khaite’s spring 2024 collection, including the Louisa and Seigel heel sandals, were recalled after they were deemed hazardous due to the heels detaching, posing a fall hazard. The company offered customers a refund, recalling a total of 1,860 units.
In a statement sent to FN at the time, a Khaite representative said the recall was “done out of an abundance of caution” and is a “proactive measure” to ensure customer satisfaction and safety. “There have been zero reports of incidents,” the rep reiterated.

Hough’s capretto leather high-heeled sandals were in an off-white color, which the company refers to as “warm white.” The sandals feature a thong-style strap on an open toe, with an elasticized ankle strap and a patent stiletto heel with rubber injection, measuring around 2.5 inches.
Still, Hough wore the shoes confidently and stayed loyal to the brand, pairing the sandals style with a Khaite dress in white. She opted for the brand’s Mel dress style, which is an easy-fitting A-line minidress in crisp, lightweight, natural silk organza that blended silk and cotton for a fluid drape. The slip-on dress featured a flounced hem, a high V-neck and a deep V-back. The dress retails for $1,680.
Hough kept the rest of her look understated, matching her accessories to the black heel on her sandals, opting for all-black sunglasses and a black leather bag with gold straps, while wearing her hair in her signature blond bob.
Hough and her brother, Derek Hough, made a stop at ABC Studios to talk all about hitting the road together for their dance convention and competition tour, “The Ovation Dance Tour,” a multi-genre dance convention and competition created in partnership with the famous brother and sister. The tour will launch in the 2025-2026 season, with dates in major cities across the country like Chicago, Phoenix and Dallas.
