Metallic shoes are nothing new on the red carpet — but at the 2025 ESPY Awards, athletes and other celebrities gave the shoe trend their own spin. While towering gold stilettos and chrome platforms certainly made an appearance on guests who frequent the red carpet, like actress Alison Brie, it was interesting to see athletes in shimmering and dainty footwear — a far departure from the sneakers and cleated footwear many of the pros typically wear.
