Elle Fanning appeared on the “Today” show on Wednesday in New York City, wearing a pair of Tod’s pumps she seems to be a fan of. The “Sentimental Value” star has a traditional, minimalist taste in shoes, and the black leather heels she wore to promote her upcoming Apple TV show “Margo’s Got Money Troubles” fit that description.
Fanning opted for Tod’s Leather Decollete pumps 75 in black. The shoes feature a reinforced opening, a sculptural silhouette, and a high heel. The pumps feature a dark-toned, monochrome upper with a classic almond toe and a sturdy block heel. The shoes are constructed with a high top line and a vamp that stops midfoot.

The elevated heel height makes the pumps appropriate for more formal events, while its silhouette follows a unique and modern design. The brand offered the Decollete pumps with a brown wooden heel and an all-black version, which are the ones the Academy Award winner wore. She wore the pumps on various occasions and in different colors in 2025 while promoting “Sentimental Value.”
For the daytime talk show appearance, she contrasted the pumps with an ultrafeminine dress. The dress was the opening look from Rabanne’s fall 2026 collection, and it followed a 1940s-inspired tea dress silhouette with a quirky floral print. She paired the collared dress, which featured a midi-length A-line skirt, with a slim black leather belt that sat loosely at her hips.
Fanning, who celebrated her birthday a day early on “Today,” will join forces with Michelle Pfeiffer for the third time on their new show, “Margo’s Got Money Troubles.” The show follows Margo, played by Fanning, who is the daughter of a former Hooters waitress and an ex-pro wrestler. She is a recent college dropout and aspiring writer who has a new baby, a mounting pile of bills, and a dwindling number of ways to pay them. The shoe follows as Margo finds a way forward. The series will debut on Apple TV on April 15.
