Ariana Grande kept things classic with Jimmy Choo‘s Romy pumps when she appeared on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday to promote the film “Wicked: For Good.”
Grande slipped on a black suede version of the Romy pump by Jimmy Choo to accompany her 1930s dress. The Romy pump quietly refreshes a classic pump silhouette by softening the traditional pointed toe and modernizing the stiletto heel. Grande has reached for the Romy on numerous occasions — recall, for instance, the baby pink satin pair she wore to the Oscars in February to accompany a custom Giambattista Valli gown.
First launched in 2016, the Romy is an icon style for Jimmy Choo. Offered in a range of heights and materials, it’s become a go-to formal heel for a variety of celebrities. As of FN’s August 2024 reporting on the style, the shoe had sold over 400,000 pairs since its launch.

“The idea of a pointy-toe pump is one of the biggest challenges of a shoe designer. Every shoe brand makes a version, so it requires a lot of thought to make yours really stand out,” Jimmy Choo’s creative director Sandra Choi said of the style. “Romy is an art form when it comes to both the design and the silhouette. It’s the perfect pump. A blend of refined glamour and elegance for those moments when you need to present yourself with a pulled-together polish.”
During her appearance on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Grande’s black suede Romy pumps were paired with a sheer vintage dress which alluded to the character Elphaba from “Wicked.” The dress was black with intricate emerald green beaded leaves along the skirt. This look follows Grande wearing a Schiaparelli gown and ballet-inspired Christian Louboutin platform heels to the New York premiere of “Wicked: For Good,” the final premiere after several international stops to promote the film, which is set for release on Friday.
