Boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard is entering the ring for Skechers, signing on to be the face of its Relaxed Fit collection beginning this fall through to December 2016.
“Sugar Ray is a natural media magnet: his charm and charisma have kept him on the air for more than 30 years as America’s boxing icon,” said Michael Greenberg, Skechers president. “Now that he’s delivering blow-by-blow commentary on NBC Sports’ Premier Boxing Champions series, it’s the perfect time for millions to see his signature style in Relaxed Fit footwear. We’re excited to have a champ like Sugar Ray in our corner.”
The Relaxed Fit collection features a roomier fit and the brand’s memory foam footbed. Leonard is the first boxer to lace up for Skechers’ Relaxed Fit. He joins an esteemed club of sport legends touting Skechers product, including Wayne Gretzky, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Pete Rose and starting this spring, New York Yankee great Mariano Rivera.
