Jefferies analyst Randal Konik is bullish on the prospects for Nike Inc.
The analyst said takeaways from fourth quarter earnings results at Dick’s Sporting Goods “reinforces confidence in Nike’s product-led wholesale recovery.”
He noted a number of developments in a research note Thursday that underscored the strength of Nike’s wholesale partnerships with Dick’s and its Foot Locker banner, as well as the strategic alignment between the brand and the retailers.

For example, Nike was mentioned repeatedly during a Dick’s management conference call as a core strategic partner, with reference to collaboration on high-heat launches and major activations that drove sell-through. Both Nike and Jordan Brand also were cited along other tops brands in key moments, like the NBA All-star game.
“We view this as further confirmation that Nike’s wholesale reset is gaining traction with key partners that are leaning in, not pulling back,” Konik said. He also said management’s callout of Nike’s running innovation supports a product-led recovery narrative, while signature basketball remained strong across both the Dick’s and Foot Locker banners. “This reinforces our view that Nike’s demand recovery is being driven by innovation and performance credibility rather than promotional activity,” the analyst further concluded.
And with inventory cleanup largely complete at Foot Locker, Nike should benefit as one of the primary brands best positioned to anchor the retail banner’s recovery as improved sell-through and few unproductive stock-keeping units should support healthier replenishment and more consistent demand, Konik said.
The analyst noted that what wasn’t said during the conference call after its earnings report was equally important, if not more so.
“Notably absent from the Dick’s call was any concern around Nike‑specific inventory pressure, elevated promotions, or weakening demand,” he said, adding that management did not flag allocation risk, markdown dependency, or loss of relevance. Moreover, Nike was discussed in the context of a brand performing well within a clean inventory environment.
“We view the absence of negative commentary as incremental evidence that Nike’s wholesale relationship with Dick’s has stabilized and is beginning to move back into a more normalized growth‑oriented phase,” Konik concluded.
And separately, it was learned in January that as Nike grows back its wholesale base, the Rack Room began offering the Swoosh’s Jordan Brand sneaker offering last month across men’s, women’s and kids’ sizes, as well as slides, socks and backpacks.
