Nordstrom marked 125 years the way it started: with shoes.
The retailer and luxury brand hosted a luncheon Wednesday afternoon at The Maybourne Beverly Hills to celebrate both the retailer’s milestone anniversary and the launch of an exclusive all-white capsule collection with Manolo Blahnik. The gathering drew a group of content creators, including Chriselle Lim, Annabelle Fleur, Courtney Trop, Kayla Seah, Meeka Hossain and Quigley Goode.
“Both Nordstrom and Manolo Blahnik are rooted in family businesses that have shaped generations by a passion for quality and service,” said Linda Cui Zhang, Nordstrom’s fashion director. “There’s something incredibly powerful about continuity, about building something that endures, that evolves and remains very personal, and of course, at the heart of that all is shoes. Nordstrom started as a shoe store in 1901. Shoes may be an object of desire, of design and also of expression and joy. We both speak that language so fluently and that’s what brings us together today.”
The capsule features a range of Manolo Blahnik’s classic silhouettes, with sandals and slingbacks reimagined in white leather and raffia.

“Manolo is Mediterranean and truly believes that a white shoe is the blank canvas for nature and colorful dressing,” said Kristina Blahnik, chief executive officer of Manolo Blahnik and niece of its founder.
“We’re a private family run business as well, 55 years. We’ve got a few years to catch up,” she laughed. “It’s a day of celebrations. We’ve been partners for almost 30 years with Nordstrom, and that journey has been incredible. It’s a relationship that is formed on aligned values.”
The seven styles from the capsule were on display, offering guests a closer look at the craftsmanship and detailing. Priced between $925 and $1,125, they’re available at select Nordstrom stores and on nordstrom.com.
Held in the hotel’s outdoor Terrace restaurant, with lemons lining the table, attendees sat down to burrata, followed by a choice of grilled salmon or herb chicken and a lemon tart to finish, paired with iced tea or white wine.
Beyond the shoes, guests were invited to customize anklets with charms, taking them home at the end of the afternoon along with a loaf of bread and marmalade — a nod to the Mediterranean spirit.
