Aquazzura is reintroducting its Love Affair pump, now available in an alluring and delicate mesh. Since its debut, the silhouette has been crafted in suede, napa leather, glossy patent leather and satin. In all its iterations, the shoe has captivated Hollywood’s most stylish stars like Teyana Taylor, Selena Gomez and Dua Lipa, who have worn them on red carpets to after parties, and for countless TV appearances.
Aquazzura‘s creative director and founder Edgardo Osorio believes that the shoe style is so beloved because of its timeless design, while still being “of the moment,” which adds to its overall appeal.

“It has a very clean, feminine and elegant line, so it works with everything, like jeans, tailoring, a red-carpet gown, and still has a personality,” Osorio said to FN. “In every material from mesh, satin and patent leather, the ‘Love Affair’ is always sensual and refined at the same time, but more importantly, it’s also very comfortable to wear.”
This season, Aquazzura released the Love Affair Mesh pump, which has already been a popular footwear choice for celebrities. The shoes follow the same shape as the original, but feature a soft suede-trimmed mesh upper. “The mesh version is like a modern whisper of the original. It keeps the same iconic silhouette, but is instantly lighter, more airy, more sensual, almost like a second skin,” the designer said.
“The transparency gives it a very feminine sophistication, while making it incredibly versatile: chic for the day, and magnetic at night. I also love how the suede trims the foot, so you get structure where you need it, but the overall impression is modern and effortless.”
Aside from its visual appeal, the comfort element might be a major selling point for celebrities who wear high heels for hours on end while attending events. The mesh version has already hit the streets countless of times thanks to its early famous adopters. Amal Clooney brought the dainty shoes to the Clooney Foundation’s The Albie Awards in London in October 2025 in the espresso brown color, which is currently a trending hue in the footwear space.
Emma Stone stepped out in New York for an appearance wearing the same tone while promoting her film “Bugonia” on “Good Morning America,” pairing them with a soft yellow ensemble for contrast. Suki Waterhouse supported her partner Robert Pattinson at the “Die My Love” premiere in New York, wearing the Love Affair pumps with a romantic floral gown.
The latest incarnation of the design builds upon the shoe’s already firm foundation. The Love Affair pump was introduced in 2023 and has become a signature style for Aquazzura. The architectural style is designed with a sleek pointed toe and sculpted sides to highlight the contours of the foot.
The towering heel, available in 105mm and 85mm, elongates the leg and the adjustable ankle strap keeps the foot securely in place, while also gently decorating the bottom of the leg. The shoe has proven to have cross-generational appeal and have been spotted on Hollywood mainstays like Jennifer Lopez and Beyoncé, as well as rising stars like Hunter Schafer.
Osorio, who was honored with the “Designer of the Year” award at the 2024 FNAAs, says the name “Love Affair” is meant to reflect the universal appeal of the shoe, which is a style that was designed to be admired by both men and women. “There’s something undeniably sensual about a woman in a pointed-toe pump with a high heel, and this silhouette captures that timeless allure in a modern way,” he says.
That seems to be a throughline and the connective tissue at the core of Aquazzura’s shoes. The brand’s offerings are so distinctive and can be easily identified in a sea of high heels on red carpets, at award shows and beyond. “It’s always a balance of three things: line, femininity and wearability. I want a shoe to look sexy, but in an elegant way,” Osorio said. “I want it to feel feminine, but with strength. And I never want the woman to suffer for beauty, because if you’re suffering, it shows.”
“Aquazzura has a very specific soul: Italian craftsmanship and elegance, but with my Latin spirit, joy, sensuality, a bit of boldness,” Osorio, who was born in Colombia, says. “There are little signatures, too, like our pineapple, which for me is about hospitality and good fortune. In the end, when you see an Aquazzura shoe, I want you to feel that it has a point of view, refined, but with personality and a touch of fun.”
The Love Affair pumps are available in patent leather, suede, satin and mesh in a variety of colors like red, white and black, as well as a crystal version. They retail for $895, while some styles are on sale on the brand’s website.
