PARIS — Textile trade fair Première Vision has “indefinitely postponed” the first edition of its new annual congress, the PV Global Meetings, citing the financial slump.
“The current economic environment, which has deteriorated sharply in recent months, creating a climate of heightened anxiety in the textile and fashion sector, prevented the initiative from attaining the participation levels sought,” the trade show’s organizer stated today.
The event was set to open with a gala dinner on Feb. 16 in Paris after the main Première Vision show ended and continue with a full day of discussions, themed seminars and workshops on Feb. 17. The organizer had initially hoped the event, for which scheduled speakers included World Trade Organization director general Pascal Lamy, would attract around 400 industry decision-makers.
